 FlexPass ProxSmith, Indala's Field Programmer and Toolkit, puts
control of the security system in the hands of the system manager. With
this Windows based software and encoder hardware, Indala gives you the tools
you need to design and program your own cards and readers, and allows you
to use the same card in all your facilities.
And now ProxSmith API (Application Programming Interface)
is available to create applications for the Indala FlexPass family of access
control products. ProxSmith API is an ActiveX software component that enables
automated programming of large quantities of cards.
This gives you the power to choose and control the right level of security
for your organization. You can choose from 3 levels of security:
• Level 1: Standard 26-Bit Format Standard, Quick and Easy
ProxSmith permits the issuance of facility codes and identification ranges
in the field for multiple sites. ProxSmith keeps an archive of each building
or organization’s cards issued.
• Level 2: Default Encryption
Quick, Easy and Flexible. ProxSmith permits multiple bit formats (up to
172 bits) to be programmed in cards that can read by a generic reader format.
All the readers have the same pass through programming that permits varying
card formats to be read and pass through to the controller for decryption.
This feature is ideal for multi-tenant facilities, allowing one card to
for parking, lobby and elevator access, as well as higher security for the
tenant’s specific property.
• Level 3: Custom Encryption
The Highest Security Possible. The card and the readers carry the encryption
key easily designed by the ProxSmith Windows Wizard. Once loaded into the
cards and readers, only the cards carrying the custom encryption key can
be read by the FlexPass readers. No data gets past the reader to the control
panel, ensuring a higher level of security that can be achieved by the control
system alone.

If you need new cards today, you can program them today, regardless of the
security level of the facility! It virtually eliminates lead times by giving
the systems manager control over card issuance.
Security Is The Key
But the real benefit of ProxSmith is the high level of security you can
achieve with ProxSmith and the FlexPass reader system. With the encryption
key resident on the reader, not the card, you can be sure no other card
will work with your reader. No chance to gain physical access or to de-bug
your security system.
Format Option Cards Even Faster Reader Programming
And, to make reader programming even faster, you can use ProxSmith to create
a Format Option Card. Then, simply wave the Format Option Card in front
of the reader within 15 seconds of power-up and your reader is programmed.
Then use the Disable Option Card to lock the reader. It's simple and secure.
